Hilton Makes Its Mark on Morocco’s Mediterranean Gem: DoubleTree Launches at Marchica Lagoon

Nador’s Marchica Lagoon has taken a significant step toward becoming a premier international tourism destination, with the announcement of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Residences project at Marina Nour Atalayoun.
Marchica Med, the development arm of the Marchica Lagoon Site Development Agency (AASLM), confirmed on April 29 that it has signed a partnership agreement with HenriPay Holding N.V. and Hilton Worldwide to deliver the project. At the heart of the deal is a 20-year Build, Allocate, Manage and Assign (BAMA) franchise and management contract with Hilton, allowing the complex to operate under the globally recognised DoubleTree by Hilton brand and benefit from the group’s international commercial network.
The development will combine a luxury hotel with branded residential units, set along the lagoon’s shoreline near the marina. Guests and residents will have access to a full range of amenities including wellness and leisure facilities, restaurants, retail outlets, swimming pools, and a comprehensive hospitality offering designed to international standards.
For HenriPay Holding, the investment signals strong confidence in the tourism potential of Marchica Lagoon and the wider Nador region. For Marchica Med, it represents a concrete step in its strategy to deepen private sector partnerships while advancing sustainable territorial development — all while preserving the ecological integrity of a lagoon widely described as one of the Mediterranean’s finest natural assets.
Construction is expected to begin in the near term, with partners committed to delivering a project that meets global standards while ensuring long-term environmental and economic sustainability.
